Guru Pandit Habib Khan

Pandit Habib Khan is one of the most respected and sought after performers of Hindustani classical music in the world. He is also a renowned Guruji (Teacher) who has taught students in his “Gurukul” (teaching center) for over 20 years in the Bay Area and worldwide.

Pandit Habib Khan began his studies at the age of five under the tutelage of his father Ustad Hameed Jaffer Khan. The Jaffer Khan family were legendary for their unique style of playing the sitar, that seamlessly fused the character of the human voice and instrumental tone of the sitar into a melodious unity.

Habib Khan has performed with a large roster of distinguished musicians including tabla maestros Zakir Hussain, Swapan Chaudhuri, and scalloped fretboard guitar pioneer Matthew Montford.
